PRIMETALS TANGSHAN TECHNOLOGY SERVICES AND HBIS LAOTING SIGN A MAINTENANCE SERVICE CONTRACT

In August 2020, PTTS and HBIS Laoting agreed to sign a contract for slab continuous caster maintenance service in Tangshan city, Hebei province. The contract starts from commissioning of the caster expected mid of September 2020 and the initial term shall be 10 years. PTTS, a joint venture between Primetals Technologies and HBIS Tangshan Iron and Steel Group started in 2017, who is headquartered in Tangshan, has rich and successful maintenance experience of slab caster and billet casters. HBIS Laoting, located in Laoting District Tangshan city, Hebei province, started in 2017 and was invested by HBIS group. The target is to build up a world class steel plant and HBIS Laoting purchased three continuous slab casters with 2 strands each from Primetals Technologies to produce high level products. After three years preparation, HBIS Laoting will start the first casting in September 2020. PTTS as the premium maintenance technology provider in China and close partner, was chosen to be the solely maintenance supplier for ten years. PTTS is setting up its’ future headquarters and central workshop near HBIS Laoting. Imported machinery and equipment like welding machines, thermal spray coating, plants for surface preparation, other inspection or measurement equipment and a professional team, which can fulfill service customer’s requests. Based on the cooperation for the slab casters, PTTS and HBIS Laoting are discussing about expanding the scope to serve as well the billet caster maintenance and online business scope. Primet (Tangshan) Metallurgical Technology Service Co., Ltd. will set up a professional team composed of experts and technical workers in Chengde Branch of Hegang to introduce imported mechanical equipment such as welding machine and inspection or measuring equipment such as OPAL system. In order to ensure that Chengde Branch of hesteel will achieve better results in the service period.
